Defence Bridge is the controller of the information you give us. For questions, to end your membership or to unsubscribe, contact contact@defence-bridge.dk.

We use your name, email and short motivation to review your application and contact you. Your university or programme is optional. We also record the time, language, declaration you accepted, application status and the board's response. Applications are reviewed by the board, not by automated decision-making.
We process your application and any subsequent membership to enter into and manage the membership agreement at your request under GDPR Article 6(1)(b). Optional study information is used for our legitimate interest in planning relevant activities under Article 6(1)(f). An application does not automatically make you a member or subscribe you to the newsletter.
Newsletter
By subscribing, you consent to emails from Defence Bridge about events, projects and opportunities. We keep your email, chosen language and a record of your subscription. Processing is based on your consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a).
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. This does not change any membership or the lawfulness of processing before you withdrew consent.
Retention and access
We retain application information while the application and any appeal are being reviewed. We then delete information that is no longer needed. If you are admitted, we retain the information needed to manage your membership. After a withdrawal or unsubscribe request has been processed, we delete the relevant information unless there is a specific legal reason to keep it. The association handles deletion, application withdrawal and unsubscribe requests manually.
Only people responsible for membership administration have access to the lists. We do not sell your data or share the membership list with sponsors or partners.
Website operations
Vercel hosts the website, and Supabase processes registrations. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Providers may process technical and security logs, including IP addresses. Access and any transfers outside the EU/EEA are governed by the providers' data processing agreements and transfer mechanisms.
To limit abuse, the registration service uses short-lived counters based on a one-way derivation of the email address. Counters expire after 15 minutes and are cleared by subsequent submissions. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in protecting the website under GDPR Article 6(1)(f).
Your rights
You can request access, correction or deletion of your information. You may also have rights to restriction, objection and data portability. Contact contact@defence-bridge.dk. We may ask for information to verify that the request comes from you.
You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) if you believe we are handling your information incorrectly.
